Introduction

Namu Ukur Utara Village, Sei Bingei District, Langkat Regency, is renowned for its impressive crop production, with an annual output of 6,784 tons from an area of 1,032 hectares. The village's corn productivity stands at 6.57 tons/hectare, showcasing immense potential for the development of corn cultivation. However, the level of adoption of corn cultivation technology by farmers in this village remains a pressing concern. This study aims to investigate the level of adoption of corn cultivation technology recommended by the Field Agricultural Extension Workers (PPL) in the village of Namu Ukur Utara and identify the factors that influence this adoption, particularly from the socio-economic aspects of farmers.

Methodology

This study employed a Chi-Square analysis method, with a sample of 30 Corn Farmers (KK) randomly selected from the entire population of corn farmers in the village. The research aimed to reveal the level of adoption of corn cultivation technology and the factors that influence it, providing valuable insights into the challenges and efforts of farmers in the village.

Results

The results of this study showed that the level of adoption of corn cultivation technology in the village of Namu Ukur Utara was categorized as medium, with a percentage of 18.30%. This indicates that most farmers have not fully adopted the recommended corn cultivation technology, highlighting the need for further investigation into the factors that influence this adoption.

Several factors were identified as inhibitors of the adoption of corn cultivation technology, including:

Limited Capital
