The Influence of Health Education through Film Media and Poster Media about Drugs on Increasing Knowledge and Attitudes of Students of SMK Negeri 1 Jorlang Hataran Simalungun Regency in 2016
Introduction
Health education is a crucial method in preventing drug abuse, particularly among the younger generation. It plays a vital role in providing understanding of drugs to students, helping them make informed decisions about their health and well-being. This study aims to determine the effect of health education through film media and posters regarding drugs on increasing the knowledge and attitudes of students in SMK Negeri 1 Jorlang Hataran, Simalungun Regency, in 2016. The study employed a quasi-experiment design with a pretest-posttest group design to analyze the data.
Background
The use of drugs, including narcotics, psychotropic, and other addictive substances, is a significant concern worldwide. In Indonesia, the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) and the Health Office have been working together to prevent drug abuse among the younger generation. Health education is one of the key strategies used to raise awareness about the dangers of drugs and promote a positive attitude towards efforts to prevent drug abuse. This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of health education through film media and posters in increasing knowledge and attitudes of students in SMK Negeri 1 Jorlang Hataran.
Methodology
The study used a quasi-experiment design with a pretest-posttest group design. The population studied consisted of 321 students from class X and XI. From this population, 30 students were grouped into film groups and 30 students into the poster group, chosen through simple random sampling techniques. The data obtained were analyzed using the T-Independent test.
Results
The results of the study showed that health education through films and posters had an influence on student knowledge about drugs. The changes in knowledge produced by posters were higher, with an average value of 4.33 and standard deviations of 1.241, compared to films, which had an average value of 3.60 and standard deviations of 1.499. This indicates that posters are more effective in increasing student knowledge about drugs compared to films.
However, films had a greater influence on students' attitudes towards drugs. The changes in attitudes produced by films had an average value of 14.20 and standard deviations of 4,405, while posters showed an average value of 9.63 and standard deviations of 4,716. This suggests that films are more effective in shaping student attitudes towards drugs compared to posters.

The results of this study have several implications for health education in schools. Firstly, the study highlights the importance of integrating health education through media posters and films about drugs into the education curriculum. This is crucial in increasing student awareness and knowledge about the dangers of drugs and forming a positive attitude towards efforts to prevent drug abuse among the younger generation.

Limitations
This study has several limitations. Firstly, the study was conducted in a single school, which may limit the generalizability of the findings. Secondly, the study used a quasi-experiment design, which may be subject to certain biases.
