Based on the results of the study, many agents do not understand the contents of the cooperation agreement they signed, even some of them did not sign the agreement at all. This situation occurs because these agents are chosen based on appointment, which clearly contrary to the provisions of POJK which requires a written agreement to begin the agency cooperation between the bank and the agent.

Constraints and Challenges

The obstacles faced in the implementation of this POJK include the lack of understanding of the community and agents of applicable regulations, as well as the legal and cultural structure of the community that have not yet supported. In addition, available facilities and infrastructure are also inadequate to support Branchless Banking operations optimally.

Recommendation

In order to increase the effectiveness of POJK No. 19/POJK.03/2014, it is recommended that OJK conducts more intensive socialization related to legal protection for customers and agents. In addition, there needs to be training for agents so that they understand the rights and obligations contained in the cooperation agreement. With these efforts, it is hoped that Branchless Banking services can run well and provide maximum protection for all parties involved.

Conclusion

Branchless banking through the BRILINK program at the BRI Gebang Unit is an important step in increasing financial inclusion in Indonesia. However, to ensure the sustainability and protection of customers and agents, joint efforts are needed to increase understanding of existing legal regulations and protection. Only thus, the benefits of financial service without office can be felt optimally by all levels of society.
