To collect primary data, researchers used a questionnaire with a Likert measurement scale. The questionnaire was tested to ensure its validity and reliability before being administered to employees in Regional Office VI of the Medan State Personnel Agency. An analysis was performed using the T test and identification of R Square's determinants with the help of the SPSS program version 17.00.

Results and Discussion

The results of the study showed that the job design (X) had a positive and significant effect on employee performance (Y) of employees in Regional Office VI of the Medan State Personnel Agency. Data analysis shows the R Square value of 0.617 or 61.7%, which indicates that the job design contributes significantly to employee work performance. In other words, more than half of the variety of employee work performance can be explained by the job design applied.

The study also highlights the importance of assistance from superiors. With adequate support and direction, employees will feel more confident and motivated to achieve the specified work targets. This shows that effective job designs are not only related to formal documents but also with interpersonal relationships at work.

Implications and Recommendations

Based on the findings of this study, the authors recommend that the organization maintain the clarity of existing job designs and provides the support needed by employees. This can be done through training, routine feedback, and open communication between superiors and employees. Thus, not only employee work performance will increase, but also their job satisfaction.
