This study aims to examine the effectiveness of picture card media and video in increasing the knowledge and attitudes of pre-school children in the city of Matsum in consuming vegetables and fruit.

Results

The results of this study showed that both picture card media and video were effective in increasing the knowledge of pre-school children about consumption of vegetables and fruit. However, video media has proven to be more effective than picture card media. Unfortunately, the media has not succeeded in increasing the child's attitude in consuming vegetables and fruit.

The main problem lies in the incomplete between the knowledge gained at school with the availability of vegetables and fruit at home. In addition, parental support is also a key factor. Children tend to imitate the habits of parents, so if parents do not make consumption of vegetables and fruit as an important part of family diet, children will tend to follow them.
