Introduction

The purification of zinc oxide (ZNO) from zinc dross waste has been a significant challenge in the metal industry. Zinc dross is a byproduct of the zinc smelting process and contains a high percentage of zinc, but also has impurities such as iron, aluminum, and magnesium. This mixture was dissolved in Aqua DM and was ground using a planetary ball mill (PBM) for 40 minutes until it was mud. After the milling process, the sample was filtered and dried in the oven at 100 ° C for 24 hours. Furthermore, zinc dross powder products that had been mixed with carbon were scorn at 1200 ° C for 2.5 hours to produce ZNO powder.

Results

The results of this purification process indicated the level of purity of ZNO by 98%, according to XRF analysis.
