The Effect of Role Model and Entrepreneurial Skills on Entrepreneurial Interest in Entrepreneurship Students at the University of North Sumatra Stambuk 2022
Introduction
Entrepreneurship is a vital aspect of economic growth and development, and it is essential to encourage students to pursue entrepreneurial interests from an early stage. The University of North Sumatra, Stambuk 2022, has been actively promoting entrepreneurship among its students, and this study aims to investigate the effect of role models and entrepreneurial skills on entrepreneurial interest among these students. The study employed a quantitative approach, using a sample of 40 students, and analyzed the data using descriptive analysis and multiple linear regression analysis.
Methodology
The population studied consisted of 40 students, and the entire population was used as a sample using saturation methods. The data analysis method used includes descriptive analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. The study aimed to determine the effect of role models and entrepreneurial skills on entrepreneurial interest among students.
Results
The results of the study showed that simultaneously, the role model and entrepreneurial skills had a significant influence on the entrepreneurial interest of students of the University of North Sumatra, Stambuk 2022. In a more detailed analysis, it was found that the role model had a positive and significant influence on entrepreneurial interest, while entrepreneurial skills, despite giving a positive impact, was not significant. The results of the analysis of the coefficient of determination show that the value of R adjusted square (R²) is 0.395. This means that 39.5 percent of the variables of entrepreneurial interest can be explained by the Role Model variable and entrepreneurial skills, while the rest can be explained by other variables that are not examined in this study.

This can create self-confidence and reduce fear that often prevents someone from starting their own business.

Although this research shows that entrepreneurial skills have a positive influence, but it is not significant on entrepreneurial interest, this may show that technical skills alone are not enough to arouse interest. Students also need to get psychological encouragement and environmental environment, such as access to mentors, training, and real experience in running a business.

In addition, providing more practical opportunities for students to develop their entrepreneurial skills can help build better confidence and understanding of the business world.
