Introduction

One way to achieve this understanding is through subject mapping, which involves analyzing and visualizing the relationships between different research topics and themes. This study aims to identify and analyze the form of subject mapping in the field of library science and scientific information indexed in Scopus and the Web of Science.

Research Methodology

The method used in this study is documentation, which refers to data collection from various journal articles. This process is very important to build a deep understanding of the subjects studied in the field of libraries and information science. This mapping provides insights related to trends, developing issues, and the contribution of the country in research in this field. The data collection process involved searching for journal articles in the top quartile journals in library science and information science, as listed in Scopus and the Web of Science. The search results yielded 3,327 article documents in Scopus and 3,769 article documents in the Web of Science.

The analysis of the journal articles revealed several interesting findings, which can be categorized into four main areas: mapping based on the co-word method, mapping based on keyword index, mapping based on the country's home country, and mapping source of quotation.

Mapping Based on the Co-Word Method

The results of this analysis revealed that the most common keywords in Scopus are "Social Media", "Academic Libraries", "Information Literacy", "Twitter", and "Collaboration".
