Introduction

Rice is one of the most widely cultivated crops in the world, and its production is crucial for food security and economic development in many countries. Methodology

This study was conducted in Sei Bamban Village, Sei Bamban District, and Mangga Dua Village, Tanjung Beringin District, Serdang Bedagai Regency. The study involved 30 farmers, where 13 farmers implemented an irrigation system, while 17 other farmers did not use irrigation. The data collection method used was proportional sampling and stratified random sampling. To analyze the data, we used an independent T test to determine the significant difference between the two groups.

Results

The results of this study showed that although there were no significant differences in productivity between irrigation rice fields and non-irrigation rice fields, there were significant differences in terms of income. Revenue from rice fields that use irrigation reached Rp. 27,993,071 per hectare, while income from rice fields without irrigation was only Rp. 24,483,460 per hectare. This shows that the use of irrigation can have a positive impact on farmers' income, although their productivity is not directly proportional to the use of irrigation systems.

Although the results showed that productivity was not significantly different, irrigation contributed to the stability of the harvest.
