Introduction

The COVID-19 pandemic, which began in 2020, has had a profound impact on people around the world. Many individuals have faced various difficulties, including losing loved ones, losing jobs, and decreased quality of social relations. One of the most affected groups is health workers, who are at the forefront in providing health services to the community. The psychological pressure experienced by them is very large, given the responsibilities and risks that must be borne when treating COVID-19 patients. This study aims to examine the picture of the Subjective Well-Being (SWB) in health workers in Medan during the Covid-19 Pandemic period.

Methodology

The method used in this study is a descriptive quantitative method involving 109 health workers. To measure the level of subjective well-being, this study utilizes two scales, namely Life Satisfaction Scale (SWLS) and Scale of Positive and Negative Experience (SPAN). The use of these scales allows for a comprehensive understanding of the subjective well-being of health workers.

Results

The results showed that of the 109 health workers studied, only 12 subjects (11%) had low well-being subjectives, while 7 subjects (7%) showed high SWB. A total of 90 other subjects (82%) are not classified in the high or low SWB category, so they are in the category not categorized. This finding illustrates that most health workers are in an unstable mental state during Pandemic.

Discussion

Further analysis of this data shows that although most health workers are in the category of not categorized, it is important to identify the factors that can increase their subjective well-being. Emotional support from coworkers, mental health programs provided by health agencies, and sufficient rest time can contribute to improving the mental health of health workers. In addition, counseling and education about stress management can also be an effective preventive step in helping health workers overcome emotional challenges during Pandemi. Improving the quality of communication between health workers and management is also very necessary to create a more supportive work environment.

Conclusion

Overall, a picture of subjective well-being in health workers in the Covid-19 pandemic shows the need for more attention to their psychological well-being. With a variety of appropriate interventions, health workers are expected to be able to carry out their duties better and improve the quality of health services in the midst of this difficult situation.
