In Indonesia, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), especially those engaged in the culinary sector, have felt a deep impact. This research focuses on the socio-economic conditions of culinary business actors around Mitra Sejati Hospital Medan Johor, known as the location of COVID-19 patients isolation.

The pandemic has brought about unprecedented challenges to businesses, including those in the culinary sector. With the restrictions on social activities and lockdown, many culinary businesses have experienced customer declines. Hospitals that are close to culinary places are the center of attention, but in this situation, the interest in purchasing is very limited due to fears of virus transmission. Customers tend to avoid crowds and prefer to cook at home. This has resulted in a significant decline in revenue for many culinary businesses.

Impact of Social and Economic Change

The pandemic has changed the pattern of social interaction of the community. With the restrictions on social activities and lockdown, many culinary businesses have experienced customer declines.
