Introduction

Coffee is one of the most valuable commodities in the international market, with a significant economic impact on many countries. However, the production of Arabica coffee in Bonatua Laundi District has been declining due to differences in land characteristics influenced by topographic factors such as height and slope. This study aims to reveal the relationship between the height of the place, slope, and chemical properties of the soil to the production of Arabica coffee in Bonatua Laundi District.

This study was conducted from June to September 2018, using a survey with purposive random sampling technique. A total of 32 samples were taken from 8 land map units (SPL). The sampling process involved overlaying the height map and slope map that uses a scale of 1: 80,000. Six soil chemical parameters were analyzed in this study, including soil pH, organic carbon content, available phosphate, cation exchange capacity (KTK), and base saturation (K, Ca, Mg, Na).

Data Analysis

The data obtained was analyzed using the correlation method and linear regression. The results showed that both the height of the place and the slope had a significant influence on coffee production. However, the chemical properties of soil in general did not show a significant effect on the production of Arabica coffee.
