The company's operations have a significant impact on the surrounding community, including the farmers who cultivate the Aren plant. The farmers in this area have been facing various challenges in marketing their products, including limited access to markets, lack of information about market dynamics, and limited bargaining power. Therefore, this study aims to identify the marketing channels, marketing margins, and strategies implemented by the community around the PT. Toba Pulp Lestari.

Methodology

This study utilized a qualitative approach to collect data from the farmers around the PT. Toba Pulp Lestari. The data collected included information about marketing channels, farmer share, marketing margins, and SWOT analysis. The results of the analysis were then used to identify the strategies and marketing margins implemented by the community.

Results

The results of the analysis showed that there were four marketing channels used by palm farmers in the area. The marketing channel with the highest margin found in marketing Tuak I, reaching Rp 16,000 with the benefits received by farmers (Farmer Share) of 20%. Conversely, the marketing channel of the palm of palm fibers shows the lowest margin, which is Rp 2,000, but provides a higher farmer share, which is 60%. The results of the SWOT analysis conducted also showed that there are several priority strategies that can be applied to improve the marketing of palm products around the area of PT. The results of this study show that the marketing channels used by palm farmers in the area are limited, and the marketing margins are also low. However, the farmer share is relatively high in some marketing channels. The third strategy is to improve infrastructure, especially access roads from and to the village, to make it easier for farmers to distribute their products to a wider market. Finally, the fourth strategy is to increase the Human Resources (HR) of Aren Farmers, through training and education about cultivation and marketing techniques, to help them maximize crop yields and improve product quality.

In conclusion, this study has identified the marketing channels, marketing margins, and strategies implemented by the community around the PT. Toba Pulp Lestari. The results of the study show that the marketing channels used by palm farmers in the area are limited, and the marketing margins are also low.
