The population consisted of 648 teenagers, from which 247 respondents were randomly chosen using proportional stratification. The data was collected using a questionnaire that assessed the respondents' BMI and body image. The correlation testing was carried out using the Spearman test, which is a non-parametric test used to measure the strength and direction of the relationship between two variables.

Results

The results of this study show that adolescents with normal BMI tend to have a positive body image, which is as many as 95 individuals (38.5%). On the other hand, those who experience obesity tend to have a negative body image, which is 17 individuals (6.9%). The analysis also shows a significant relationship between BMI and body image, with a P value of 0.00, which is smaller than Alpha 0.05, indicating that the relationship is statistical and significant.
