The model produced from printing was analyzed using a caliper to obtain accurate data.

Results

The results of this study showed that there were no significant differences in several variables, such as the width of the labial, palatal, and lingual lower and upper jaws; the width of the upper jaw's intermolar; and the width of the buccal and lingual intermolar width of the lower jaw. In addition, the length of the lower jaw and the upper jaw curved perimeter also did not show a significant difference between the class I, class II, and class III angles. However, there was a significant difference in the width of the upper jaw palatal intermolar and the length of the upper jaw curved between the three groups of malocclusion.

Discussion

The results of this study indicate that although there are several variations in the dimensions of the tooth arch, this difference is not always striking among different malocclusion groups. This suggests that other factors, such as genetics, environment, and oral habits, may affect dental morphology more significantly than those seen in comparison of this dimension. The significant difference in the width of the palatal intermolar and the length of the upper jaw's arch shows that there is a possibility that special factors in the Chinese tribe in the area can affect the development of tooth and jaw structure.
