In terms of environmental preservation, respondents provide very positive results, with a percentage reaching 98.46%, which is included in the very good category. As for the aesthetic sub-variable, the results are in a pretty good category, with a percentage of 58.97%.

The results of this study indicate that the community has a positive perception of the function of Medan City Forest. The community recognizes the importance of urban forests in preserving the environment and promoting sustainable development. The results also suggest that the community is aware of the benefits of urban forests, including improved air quality, increased biodiversity, and enhanced aesthetic value.

Overall, the average public perception of the function of Medan City Forest was recorded at 66.6%, which could be categorized as good. This shows that the community is quite understanding and cared about the role of urban forests in efforts to preserve the environment and the development of a greener city. With increasing public awareness about the benefits of urban forests, there is hope that the act of maintaining and preserving the environment can be improved.
