Introduction

Methodology

This study was conducted from May to July 2021 using a survey method that refers to the IPGRI Descriptive Guidebook (International Plant Genetic Resources Institute, 1995). The sampling techniques used were purposive sampling and accidental sampling. The research focused on observing the local varieties of palm plants, taking note of their morphological characteristics, including the edge or edge of the leafy, the tip of the leafy, the color of the lower surface of the leafy, and the color of the petiole.

Results

The results of the observations show that there are different character variations among the local varieties of palm plants. These characters include:

The closest kinship was recorded with a value of 0,000, involving a sample of A9T3 and A9T4 in Tapus Village, A8T3 in Kantin Village, as well as several other combinations of these villages. Conversely, the value of the farthest kinship was recorded at 43,697 between Samples of A1T1 in Sibongbong and A3T1 villages in Napa Village.

The striking difference in the kinship values is influenced by genetic factors and environmental conditions such as the height of the place, rainfall, temperature, humidity, and cultivation techniques applied.
