The city's residents, like many others in Indonesia, are influenced by a mix of Islamic and local cultural norms. This study seeks to investigate the extent to which Muslim families in Medan apply Islamic values in their dwellings and identify factors that influence their decisions.

Methodology

This study employed a qualitative research approach, involving in-depth interviews with homeowners and surveys to collect primary data. Secondary data were obtained from the Qur'an, Sunnah, as well as books and other scientific papers. The sampling frame consisted of four Muslim family homes in Medan that met specific criteria.
